Will you be in Ho Chi Minh City for a few days, a few weeks or a whole month? The answer decides which way of renting makes the most sense. With Motorent, prices are per day (24 hours) and the longer you rent, the lower the daily rate, so picking the right tier can save you a good deal.
Understand how the tiers work
Motorent's price list has six tiers: 1–2 days, 3–6 days, 7–15 days, 16–21 days, 22–29 days, 1 month. The rate is the price per day at that tier. For example, the Vision is 160,000 VND/day for 1–2 days and 90,000 VND/day for a month.
Look at the full table on the Prices page to compare the models, because each group of bikes has its own rate.
A few days: good for short trips
If you are travelling or on a short business trip, renting by the day is the simplest. You are free to go wherever you like without worrying about parking or waiting for a bus. Work out in advance the days you really need a bike so you can pick the right tier.
One to a few weeks: the rate gets lighter
Long-stay travellers, remote workers and exchange students usually fall into this group. Once you pass the 7-day tier, the daily rate starts to drop, and longer tiers drop further. If you are deciding between 6 days and 7 days, compare the total price at both tiers; sometimes an extra day does not cost more.
A month: good for people who stay longer
The 1-month tier has the lowest daily rate and suits people who work, study or stay in the city for a long time. Instead of worrying about buying a bike or parking one, you have a bike ready to use every day. If you are not sure how long you will stay, message Motorent and we will advise you on the right tier.
What stays the same however long you rent
- Rates are per 24 hours and apply within the former urban area of Ho Chi Minh City (before the merger).
- Planning to ride out of town? Just message Motorent before you rent so the trip is confirmed and your deposit is refunded as usual when you return the bike.
- The deposit and payment happen when you collect the bike, not on the website.
- For helmets, fuel and any other extras, ask our staff so you know exactly what to expect before you collect the bike.
A quick way to choose
Count the days you will really be in the city, pick the matching tier, then compare it with the tier just above. If the totals are close, the longer tier is usually more comfortable. And if your schedule is not certain, just message Motorent for advice.
